Introduction to BASSonline.com
The development of
this website was created for several reasons, mostly to help anglers
expand and explore the state wide fishing opportunities in Florida.
While this wasn’t the primary reason, it simply wasn’t the most
important as the freshwater fishing community in a whole is in need of a
website that supported the
statewide industry in regards to services, locations, rules,
conservation, news and user friendly. Who better to provide it, then the leaders of
the freshwater industry in Florida?
The freshwater
fishing industry in a whole is in need and has been for some time.
It stands fragmented,
but in desperate need of conservation awareness, knowledge, support and most of
all unity. We are all well aware of how hard it is the make a living
these days, everyone works harder and longer. As we are also well
aware of how much we all like and enjoy the Florida bass fishing
options we have. So in times
like these, it is vital each one of us in some way reaches out to
support our local agencies, anglers and fisheries in some way.
Here at
BASSonline we have made it part of our
daily policy to be involved, support and develop the freshwater
industry in Florida. You would think the pure fact that we and
many others make our living in the industry it would be natural for
everyone to do the same. Well, I am here to sadly remind you we
stand almost alone in our thinking and actions. We gladly invite the
thousand of fishing guides, marinas, tackle stores and lake users to
include conservation in there daily business practices.
We have now taken our commitment one giant
step further in being instrumental in developing Florida’s first
freshwater fishing coalition. The
FLFFC.org was officially organized
in early 2009 and has been in development stages for over 3 years
with the start of a FWC stakeholder meeting in Orlando. Now with
partners like Bass Pro Shops, Disney,
B.A.S.S. and many
other great organizations throughout Florida we can antiquely support
the local and regional conservation groups like
S.A.F.E.R., Save
Rodman, SOS Lakes and others. At the same be politically active for
the rights of each angler that fishes or uses the freshwater
resources in Florida.
We have spent a lot of time telling you about
who we are; now here are some of the features you will find in our
new website. We want this Florida freshwater website to be
informative, interactive and fun. What is easier then to check a
calendar; find all your favorite
tournament trails and fishing club tournaments schedules posted in one spot.
Why go to four different sites for schedules, no more, see them all
in one place!
Planning a fishing trip, club
tournament...check first to see if the ramp is being used, if the
ramp is closed or being repaired. Simply go to the
calendar for that
date and check the status.
One of other coolest feathers is the
blog section, not only
can you post fishing reports but also include your picture or video.
Ask questions about a location you have never been to or share
information with someone else that's
never been there. Of coarse, access the hundreds of
fishing reports
from our professional pro staff.
There’s also a
tournament
section, where individual clubs and tournament trails of any
size will be able to log-in and post there results and schedule
FREE of charge. Just think, post your club events on the calendar so other clubs know you are using a certain ramp,
know in advance how many clubs or tournaments are going to be on
that body of water at the same day. It's also a great way for your club
to get exposure for new recruits by being posted on our
Florida
clubs page.
Additionally
there's an photo library were anyone once they have
logged-in can post pictures of there daily catch. Also are able to
search photos by lake and type of fish in the all new
photo library, the largest collection of
Florida largemouth and
peacock bass fishing pictures anywhere!
Stay on top of the
industry
fishing news, read the latest on all freshwater fishing in
Florida!
Our goal is to make
this a site for the Florida outdoorsmen, whether a hunter, saltwater
or freshwater fishermen this can benefit you. We ask you to please
send comments and any additional information you would like to see
posted to us via email. If you have a picture, have a local marina
or tackle shop and would like to be listed simple email us.
